The Fishing School

Partners

The Fishing School currently partners with DC Public Schools, Roots Public Charter School, and Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, a tuition-free, independent, all boys school.

Our current DCPS sites are:

A multi-year grant from Serve DC has enabled us to place five AmeriCorps members in our program, helping us to establish stronger relationships by placing dedicated Parent Engagement Associates at each site.

Volunteers, including City Year Corps members and students’ parents also assist by augmenting staffing and directly supporting our instructors and program Site Managers in executing our Afterschool Program.

The Fishing School also leverages corporate and community partners—such as Northrop Grumman, KPMG, Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Deloitte, Wells Fargo, Kearney & Company, and the Metropolitan Police Department—to support programmatic elements, assist with school-wide goals and projects, provide workplace exposure and field trips, and provide donated supplies for students.

Corporate partners, community organizations, and DCPS collaborate with our staff to ensure a seamless educational curriculum and alignment with our programmatic priorities based on formal agreements.  With their commitment, our youth gain the skills required to become responsible stewards of their own futures, become productive members in their communities, and achieve scholastic growth.
