Thank you for applying for The Fishing School’s FREE Out-of-School Time Program for the 2023-2024 year! TFS has 33 years of experience working with youth and families and we look forward to working with your family this year.
Specifically designed to improve students’ academic performance and life skills, our out-of-school time program hours will run from the end of the school day till 6:00 PM during the academic year. We observe any school-specific early releases and closures.
Our out-of-school programming includes the following:
- Free daily supper
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Projects
- Life Skills lessons
- College readiness/HBCU lessons
- Online math and reading tutorials (during the academic year)
- Clubs
- Homework help (during the academic year)
As part of The Fishing School community, parents will have access to:
- A full-time Senior Program Manager who oversees programming and can answer any program-related questions you may have.
- A dedicated Parent Engagement Manager who will work one on one with parents to support their child’s academic success and address parent concerns
- TFS’ Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
- Parent-centered workshops and activities (i.e. parent mixers, career training, etc)
- Family engagement events such as Literacy Night, Math & Science Night, Family Game Night and more!
