A Collaborative Community

TFS’ central program partners are the schools we serve. TFS’ presence throughout DCPS is a result of DCPS’ Central Office vetting process, through which TFS became an approved DCPS partner. Partnerships with each of our schools are formalized through Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) with school principals. Our partnership enables TFS to access data regarding students’ academic performance, which is critical to our ongoing work and the annual program. In addition, each of our school partners provides student recruitment assistance, program space, food, custodial support, and site security.

A multi-year grant from Serve DC enabled TFS to place AmeriCorps members in our program, helping TFS to establish stronger relationships with parents. In addition, volunteers, including City Year Corps member augment staffing and directly support our instructors and program Site Managers in executing our Afterschool Program.
