Developing Life Skills

Within our Elementary Afterschool Program, youth have various opportunities to develop life skills and leadership.  For example, Site Managers will select students to become Executive Helpers.  In this role, students have a range of responsibilities within the program, such as assisting parent pick-ups, greeting parents in the lobby, serving as hall and bathroom monitors, retrieving students for dismissal, and acting as peer mediators whenever required.  Executive Helpers serve as role models for their peers and encourage others to be their best.  TFS created this opportunity for students to gain real life experiences and to exercise their leadership roles.
