The TFS Creed

TFS’ Daily Rally is completed as a class or site at the start of each program day and comprises of three sections:  the Creed, the TFS Step, and Stretching & Breathing.  This is a time to help participants transition from the school day into the afterschool program. It is also an important team building time in which we remind participants about the values and expectations of The Fishing School.

The Daily Rally helps our participants redirect and release energy following a long school day and each section of the Rally is student led.

“As a member of The Fishing School, I promise to honor my community, my parents, and guardians—wherever they are and whatever they do—and respect myself and others wherever I go and in whatever I am doing.

 I will work to reach the goal of The Fishing School, which is to teach me how to develop the skills and knowledge to make the right choices in life so that I will be a support for my family and myself. If you don’t see me in the streets or hanging on the corners using foul language, it’s because I’ve gone fishing in the rivers of my mind.”
