The Fishing School is an award-winning out-of-school time program supporting students in grades first through fifth and their families.
Community Program Partners
We are a proud Learn24 Partner. They have supported our program for many years. We rely on them for training support, program guidance, essential funding, and much more. We are grateful to have Learn24 as a vital community partner.

We work with partner organizations to deliver our programs, recruit talented staff, and support our operations. With their commitment, our youth gain the skills to own their futures, become productive members of their communities, and grow academically. If you want to become a partner, please contact our Executive Director, Meeta Sharma-Holt.
Program Sites
The Fishing School partners with DC Public Schools, independent schools, and public charter schools to deliver our programming. Our current sites are:
- Leckie Educational Campus
- John Lewis Elementary School
- Tubman Elementary School
- Houston Elementary
In addition to providing program space and enrollment support, partner schools must provide access to student performance data.
Local Universities
College students majoring in education and other social science fields can earn course credit, a part-time salary, and valuable work experience by serving as instructors for The Fishing School. These partnerships supply a steady flow of trained professionals while preparing university students for a career in youth development.
